Our history

Jane Wiggins, owner and director of FM Tutor, began training and educating people in facilities management in 2004.  After a successful career in management of facilities with organisations such as the BBC and BA, Jane Wiggins established herself as a writer and tutor of FM, offering others the benefit of her extensive knowledge and experience.  She worked for educational establishments, such as Newbury College, Malpas Flexible Learning, BPP Professional Education and the Careers Transition Partnership, helping many hundreds of people gain their BIFM Part 1 and Part 2 BIFM qualifications.

During this time, Jane tutored the BIFM Student of the Year winner each year from 2004 to 2010 when the Award was withdrawn by the BIFM.

Jane was a finalist in the BIFM Journalist of the Year Award in 2006, for her article in FM World, the BIFM magazine.

Jane's work with the JCI GWS Workplace FM Academy from 2005 to 2012 was recognised in 2007 as the PFM Partners with People Winner.

Jane was also nominated by her peers as one of the Top 20 Most Influencial Women in FM in 2007.

We are a team of Associates, offering a wide range of expert tuition, training and education across the full spectrum of FM topics or components, such as space management, FM strategy, hard FM and soft FM, procurement, risk and sustainability and many more.

All Tutors have worked in the FM function, have studied either FM or general management and have adult teaching experience.  Many of the team have studies via distance learning themselves, appreciating the challenges of balancing work, home, family and study.

We are a IWFM Recognised Centre, for Levels 3, 4, 5 and 6 qualifications in facilities management.  We are working with both individuals and clients providing assessment support, tutoring and learning materials.

We run an open course for levels 3, 4, 5 and 6 allowing learners to join us at any time.  Our flexible bespoke study programmes are designed to help individuals gain an externally recognised qualification in facilities management.
